Marquette University is located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a vibrant city on the shores of Lake Michigan in the midwestern United States. The greater Milwaukee metropolitan area has more than 1.5 million people, which enables the city to support a large number of educational and cultural institutions. It is also an extremely affordable city, and as a bonus it is a short drive from Chicago (to the south), and Madison (to the west, home of the main campus of the University of Wisconsin).
